Reflections on Co-Leading a London Poetry Masterclass with Anna Robinson
I am pleased to look back on a defining milestone for me: a collaborative contemporary poetry masterclass and public workshop co-led alongside the highly distinguished British poet, historian, and academic lecturer, Anna Robinson.
Staged at the creative innovation hub The Trampery in Tottenham London on 30th May 2026, this workshop was designed to provide a vital, inclusive space for local writers to explore contemporary poetic frameworks and narrative craft – full circle moment for me i must say.
I originally attended a creative writing masterclass taught by Anna. To subsequently leverage my own platform to invite, contract, and co-lead a professional public program alongside her is a transition I am incredibly proud of. It marks a clear evolution in my practice from an emerging writer into an independent producer.
Anna Robinson is a widely celebrated voice in contemporary British literature—known for her Poetry Book Society Choice collections and her extensive academic tenure lecturing in Creative Writing. Co-directing this space alongside her allowed us to merge cross-generational expertise for the benefit of grassroots London writers.
The workshop achieved wonderful community engagement and received independent institutional backing. I was thrilled to see the event selected and featured across multiple public newsletter campaigns by The Trampery, as well as highlighted nationally on the independent literary portal, Writers’ Workshop UK.
